Policies & Etiquette

Let’s face it, policy makers are some of the most boring people you’ll ever meet. Needless bureaucracy kills the fun so let’s not get tied down with tedious regulations!

We’re here simply to enjoy all things tramping. Our rules are simple and easy to follow:

Policies

1: Don’t be an arsehole!

2: See policy #1

What policy #1 means is:

Respect

  • Have consideration for others you’re tramping with and meet on the trail or in huts, they have a right to be out there just as much as you.
  • Consider how your actions affect others.
  • People are different, there are 7+ million individuals on the planet, some you won’t like, but they still have the right to be themselves.  Leave them to it so long as it doesn’t harm others.

Online Etiquette

  • Please only sign up for a tramp if you are 100% committed to turning up.
  • Last minute drop outs and no shows deny others the chance of attending and frustrate event host who have put much effort to making it happen.
  • Read the trip description thoroughly before clicking the going button
  • When signing up respond to all the questions, failing to do so may cause you to loose your place on the trip.
  • Make sure your Meetup profile complies before signing up as explained here…
