We have 3 different categories of trips. These have different levels of commitment so please consider what you are signing up for.
Casual Day Walk
These are normally a fairly easy evening or day-walks that you can just turn up to. They should be straightforward enough that you don’t need to worry too much about getting lost or falling behind. Generally these trips will not go above Grade 3.
If you have to pull out last minute then you can change your RSVP and not worry about being put down as a no show.
Committed Day Walk
These are day-walks which you need to commit to. You are expected to turn up. Dropping out last minute is bad etiquette.
Why the commitment?
These are trips where we need to control the attendance numbers for both safety and logistical reasons. Remember to only sign up if you can commit to coming.
Overnight Trips
Overnight trips can range from a beginners overnight tramp, to Multi-night trip for super fit experienced trampers.
The details will be made clear in the trip description. Regardless of the trip grade signing up means that you intend to go regardless of the weather conditions. Dropping out because it is raining is not good form.
If the weather conditions make the trip more challenging then the event host will make the call on if it goes ahead or not. If you are a fair weather tramper please go and find another group.
Why the commitment?
A vast amount of time goes into organising these trip. Having to deal with people dropping out can make transport and food arrangements a nightmare. It also denies others the chance to attend. Only sign up after reading the full trip description and committing 100% to attending.
